Join our bustling logistics operation in Chicago, Illinois, as an Inventory Clerk! We are seeking a diligent and organized individual to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our warehouse inventory. Your responsibilities will include performing physical counts, reconciling inventory records, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining the integrity of our stock data. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining efficient warehouse operations. This role is essential for supporting our distribution efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies between system records and physical counts.
- Update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) promptly and accurately.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming inventory against documentation.
- Assist in organizing warehouse stock for efficient access and retrieval.
- Monitor stock levels and alert management to potential shortages or overstock situations.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, including order picking and packing.
- Document all inventory-related transactions and adjustments.
- Contribute to process improvements aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy and efficiency in our logistics hub.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with WMS or similar inventory tracking software.
- Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Solid understanding of basic inventory management principles.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must be willing and able to wear required PPE.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Understanding of general logistics and supply chain processes.
- Reliability and punctuality are crucial.
