Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual looking for a challenging role? We have an excellent opportunity for a Shipping Clerk at our Columbus, Ohio location. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched on time. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to upholding our high standards of quality and efficiency in logistics operations. You will work closely with our warehouse team and transportation partners to ensure seamless delivery processes. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation accurately.
- Verify that all outgoing shipments match customer orders and specifications.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the WMS accordingly.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Assist in organizing and staging shipments for outgoing transport.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative role within a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic understanding of shipping and transportation regulations.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
This role is key to our logistics success. We require a keen eye for detail and a dedication to accurate documentation and timely dispatch. Safety is paramount, and all employees are expected to follow established procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE. While not primarily a physical role, occasional lifting may be required.
