We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory integrity and ensuring that goods are efficiently moved into our warehouse system. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic warehouse environment. You will be a key member of our operations team, contributing to the smooth functioning of our supply chain and ensuring the accuracy of incoming inventory. Your dedication to process and safety is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive all incoming shipments, verify quantities and product details against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects upon arrival and document any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Label received goods appropriately for internal tracking and storage.
- Stage received items for put-away or further processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and discrepancy investigations.
- Support overall logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic WMS software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with receiving.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety best practices.
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and wearing required PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- A reliable and responsible work ethic.
