Job Summary:
Our Atlanta, Georgia location is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist to enhance our logistics operations. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring inventory control procedures, analyzing stock levels, and identifying root causes of discrepancies. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of inventory management principles, and expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). You will work collaboratively with various departments, including operations, receiving, and shipping, to ensure seamless inventory flow and minimize stockouts or overstock situations. Continuous improvement is a key focus, so you will identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs. Ensuring a safe working environment is paramount; adherence to all safety guidelines and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. While direct physical handling might be limited, understanding of lifting techniques is beneficial. Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and refine inventory control strategies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand, identify trends, and optimize stock levels.
  • Manage warehouse slotting and space utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • Oversee processes for damaged goods, returns, and stock adjustments.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on inventory goals.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce costs.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inventory control best practices.
