Responsibilities:
MTSI is seeking a highly motivated student for a cooperative educational (co-op) position in our Huntsville, AL office. This position is centered on software development with a focus on C++ programming for simulation development. Responsibilities include: • Developing new C++ models or plugins to enhance simulation capabilities • Utilizing tools such as Doxygen, Sphinx, and MyST for automated source code documentation • Writing Python or bash scripts to support automation and improve workflow efficiencies • Collaborating with software engineers to support the overall simulation development process
Qualifications: • Engineering student with a focus on engineering and/or computer science fields • GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Desired Skills • Availability to work full-time, in-office during the performance period • Desire to learn new skills and topics • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team • Proficiency in Python (including NumPy, Pandas, and plotting libraries like Matplotlib) • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) • Familiarity with Doxygen or Sphinx/MyST for automated documentation • Understanding of object-oriented programming (Python or C++ preferred) • Knowledge of Git and Agile development methodologies • Experience with Linux operating systems
Clearance:
Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
