Responsibilities: Take ownership of problems end-to-end from design to deployment, with a strong emphasis on quality, automation, and continuous improvement. Introduce innovative techniques, architecture, and best practices to enhance scalability, efficiency, and reliability. Develop tooling and observability systems to monitor health, identify bottlenecks, and address instability proactively. Strike a balance between rapid iterations on early-stage systems and ensuring long-term maintainability and architectural integrity. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, mentorship, and team collaboration. Skills: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, specifically focused on backend/distributed systems. Proficiency in building and managing production-grade systems at scale within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with large-scale distributed systems, ideally developed using Python, Go, or Rust. Familiarity with microservices design, including API gateways, event streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), and container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker). Experience in DevOps workflows and CI/CD practices; familiarity with CloudBees/Harness is a plus. Strong skills in debugging, instrumentation, and observability across distributed systems. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex problems and learn quickly. Experience with AI-assisted development tools, such as coding assistants. Bonus:
Experience building agentic AI applications utilizing LLM frameworks and AI engineering expertise. Experience in a startup, particularly as a founder or early engineer, is a significant advantage. This role may also be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity.
