Your role will reflect our shared goal of enhancing health care delivery and building healthier, more vibrant communities. The Professional, Data Analyst is a foundational contributor to MVP's data‑asset lifecycle, bringing together analytical expertise, data‑management disciplines, and a deep understanding of lakehouse architecture to deliver high‑quality, trusted data at scale. In this role, you will partner closely with business stakeholders, governance teams, and technical engineers to define data requirements, document transformations, and ensure data pipelines and curated layers (bronze and silver) are accurate, complete, and aligned to enterprise strategy. You will support domain governance through ownership of technical metadata and lineage, while helping shape data workflows that promote operational reliability, analytical readiness, and consistent use of enterprise data assets. This role is central to building a sustainable, well‑architected data ecosystem that empowers improved decision‑making across the organization. What You'll Do: Data Exploration and Analysis Analyze, tag, identify data assets and systems through data discovery and analysis of high-level business processes. The Data Analyst will have deep data management skills and will be comfortable querying a variety of platforms using new languages and methods. Sort through uncertain raw data to extract useful elements and collections. Work with data architects, data engineers, data modelers and reporting users.
Data Business Requirements and Workflow Management Work as part of the data services team on large programs, governing and shaping the delivery of data products and services. Elicit and document our internal customers' business requirements, identifying the sources and transformations that are correctly modeled to apply to MVP's data assets to achieve the expected results and serve our users. Maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, metrics definitions, source to target mappings, and semantic layer specifications. Comfortably work with and define internal lakehouse data pipelines and workflows across our medallion architecture, as well as working externally with vendors to achieve third party data integrations that both ingress and egress from MVP's data ecosystems. Ensure the end-to-end solution is fit for purpose, meets the needs of business, the agreed requirements, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture direction.
Data Domain Management Partner with governance teams and business stewards who maintain business definitions, policies, and stewardship workflows. You are a tactical team member who brings subject expertise to your accountable data domains. Maintain domain technical glossaries for the bronze and silver tiers, including field definitions, lineage, and transformation logic. Collaborate with development teams working with other areas to ensure that all data solutions are complete, operable, conform to appropriate domain business processes, and meet the business needs with the agreed quality of service. Ensure that metrics and monitoring of our core data domains are in place and maintained as part of our data requirements efforts.
Skills and Experience: Education, Licensure & Certification
  Bachelor's degree in a quantitative technical, or business field (e.g. computer science, data science, engineering, finance, statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
Years & Experience
  1-3 years' experience working in data analysis, data management, business intelligence, ore a related quantitative role.
Required Job Skills Data Analysis and Exploration Demonstratable knowledge of data management, data integration, and database development techniques. Experience or familiarity with Databricks, SQL Server, and Azure cloud computing. Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Spark). Experience with ETL concepts and other tools like SQL, Python, Informatica Power Center or IDMC, SSIS/SSRS, etc ... Experience with business intelligence and reporting technologies like PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, or Databricks AI/BI.
Data Management and Requirements Experience collaborating on reference architecture, principles, and standards. Experience with delivery of data solutions and SDLC processes. Experience or knowledge of the data requirements for health insurance industry. Proven experience in Data Management planning, organization, and development. Familiarity with Data Warehouse or Lakehouse concepts.
Data Domain Management Familiarity with data governance tools and processes like Informatica CDGC, Unity Catalog, or other industry governance tools. Time spent with entity relationship modeling, metadata systems, data quality tools and techniques.
Pay Transparency MVP Health Care is committed to providing competitive employee compensation and benefits packages. The base pay range provided for this role reflects our good faith compensation estimate at the time of posting. MVP adheres to pay transparency nondiscrimination principles. Specific employment offers and associated compensation will be extended individually based on several factors, including but not limited to geographic location; relevant experience, education, and training; and the nature of and demand for the role.
