Are you ready to take the lead in a dynamic manufacturing environment? At our Glasgow facility, we design and produce the renowned Waukesha Bearings and Inpro/Seal ranges of components. As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in directing and managing our manufacturing and process engineering functions.
Your Mission:Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will guide a talented team in:
- Creating and planning CNC programs
- Coordinating tooling and fixturing
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance industrial processes, materials, and products
We’re looking for someone with:
- A progressive background in precision engineering, with experience managing all aspects of a Manufacturing Engineering Department.
- Expertise in offline CNC machine programming for complex components using advanced milling and turning technologies.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as featureCAM, GibbsCAM, Vericut, or similar.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proactive leadership and management abilities.
- A proven track record in team leadership and people management.
- The capability to drive change using Lean tools and Continuous Improvement techniques.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team in creating and planning CNC programming within set timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing designs.
- Provide guidance and support on manufacturing issues to production and engineering teams.
- Create a positive and motivating work environment, fostering team development and performance.
- Develop and execute KPIs to drive departmental performance and meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
- Proactively address issues with BOM, routing, and CNC programs.
- Specify tooling types and liaise with purchasing on suppliers.
- Encourage continuous improvement through active participation in Lean and CI initiatives.
