The Denver Foundation seeks a mission-driven Systems Administrator
who centers on mission-based work supporting the foundation's vision, mission, and purpose. This is a hands-on role that serves as the operational backbone of the IT function, supporting staff, improving internal systems, and ensuring technology is stable, secure, and aligned with the foundation's mission. The Systems Administrator operates with a high degree of independence within established IT priorities and is expected to proactively identify issues, recommend improvements, and drive solutions to completion.
The Systems Administrator reports to the Senior Director of Information Technology and brings three to seven years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or IT operations roles.
This is a full-time position in Denver, Colorado.
We work on a hybrid schedule, with at least two days in the office ( Monday and Thursday are required ); however,
this role is expected to be in the office four days per week.
The starting salary range for this position is
$96,000 to $108,000 per
year.
This position is salaried, exempt, and eligible for all the foundation's benefits. Benefits include paid time off, retirement (403(b)) contributions, tuition assistance, and medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. The starting salary will be based on experience.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the following key areas: Server administration Cloud platform administration
(Microsoft 365 and related collaboration tools) Problem-solving skills for problems where there isn't a clear answer or a known solution to the problem Customer service and translating the technical aspects of the job to people with limited technical proficiency. Candidates must possess the following:
At least three to seven years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or IT operations roles Hands-on experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory / Entra ID Experience managing endpoints using Intune and/or SCCM Experience administering Microsoft 365 in a business environment Working knowledge of networking concepts and infrastructure (firewalls, switches, VPN, Wi-Fi) Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V) and backup systems Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills Demonstrated customer service orientation Ability to convey technical or complex concepts in an understandable manner to non-technical audiences Strong organizational and operational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize work, and take ownership of operational outcomes Ability to build relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and cultures Attention to detail and commitment to system reliability and quality
