About UsLocated in the scenic village of Foxton, South West of Cambridge, Selwyn Hall School is a new SEN school dedicated to providing specialist education for 7-18 year olds facing social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Our students may have diagnoses such as ASD, ADHD, FASD, anxiety, and various learning needs.
With small bespoke groupings of just 4-6 children, we ensure that every pupil receives the individual attention they need to thrive. Our expansive private grounds create a therapeutic environment that focuses on health and wellbeing, featuring:
- Outdoor learning experiences, including forest school
- A multi-use sports pitch
- A sensory trail and conservation area
- Play equipment for active learning
Inside, our fully refurbished building offers a variety of classrooms and activity rooms for science, computing, music, drama, and Art/DT. As part of the Polaris Community , we have been transforming the lives of young people for over 30 years, with all our provisions rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
Your RoleAs a valued member of our team, you will:
- Teach all allocated areas of the curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and present engaging lessons tailored to the diverse needs of your students
- Motivate pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative presentations
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and professionals to maintain high educational standards
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance engagement and learning
- Create and maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment
- Uphold discipline in line with our Behaviour Policy
To join our team, you should:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status
- Have successful experience in Primary School Teaching
- Possess a good knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Be able to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all pupils
- Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
- Salary: £28,000 - £38,000
- Contract Term: Permanent
- Hours: 8.30am - 4.00pm
- Start Date: ASAP
