Role ResponsibilitiesAs a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the Education Team to help remove barriers to learning.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
- Providing in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- Responding to immediate concerns and resolving situations appropriately.
- Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
- Acting as an advocate for the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, reviewing progress made by students.
- Developing the role of Pupil Voice and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Building strong relationships with parents/carers during transitions and consultations.
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA) and working with pupils with SEMH.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, etc.).
- Experience in behaviour management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
