The RoleWe are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this collaborative position, you will:
- Promote meaningful supervision of placements
- Work alongside foster parents as professional colleagues
- Engage in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Travel across the North West with your own vehicle
This role is both demanding and rewarding, encompassing quality assurance and training for foster parents. You will need to be an excellent report writer and adept at meeting strict deadlines.
Requirements- Hold a Social Work England qualification or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England
- Experience in fostering
- Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to high-quality practice, including occasional evening and weekend work
- Participation in an Out of Hours rota for the Northwest region
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases
- Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload
- Conduct regular supervision to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals
- Participate in meetings and decision-making processes, including child protection
- Undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Orange Grove)
