The RoleWe are on the lookout for a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the vital role of foster parents. In this collaborative position, you will:
- Promote meaningful supervision of placements alongside foster parents.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team, valuing the expertise of foster parents as professional colleagues.
- Travel across the North West, so a full driving licence and confident driving skills are essential.
This role is both demanding and rewarding, encompassing quality assurance and training for foster parents. You will need to be an excellent report writer, capable of meeting strict deadlines while ensuring the welfare of children placed with us.
Requirements- Hold a Social Work England qualification or equivalent, and be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in fostering is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fostering regulations, child care law, and safeguarding legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality practice.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Participate in an Out of Hours rota for the Northwest region.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
- Provide direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
- Conduct regular supervision sessions, monitoring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to ensure full participation in decision-making processes.
- Be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Orange Grove Fostercare).
