SEND Teacher

Opened in September 2024, Ormston School provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18. As a SEND Teacher, you will:

• Teach small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant.
• Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
• Assess, monitor, and report on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
• Adapt your teaching methods to inspire and motivate students.
• Prepare learners for external tests and ensure they meet high standards.
• Teach across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum, with a focus on SEND adaptations.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
• Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
• Experience in teaching KS3/KS4 and knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• A good understanding of effective teaching strategies and child learning processes.
• Strong relationship-building skills with pupils and knowledge of safeguarding practices.
• Good ICT skills to support learning.
