Overview GovCIO is actively looking for a talented Frontend Developer specializing in React and Redux to join our innovative cross-functional team dedicated to enhancing VA.gov. In this key role, you will coordinate development efforts across various departments to ensure that impactful features are rolled out in a timely and efficient manner. This is a fully remote position within the Continental United States. Please note:
This position is currently unfunded and contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities Design and develop user interface components using React.js and Redux, while integrating with REST/SOAP APIs and established web services.
Participate in system planning and the development process, ensuring compliance with software standards and testing protocols.
Oversee frontend development, create user guidelines, and conduct system analysis to clarify program intentions and data input requirements.
Collaborate with developers towards successful project execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Establish coding standards and best practices to maintain high levels of excellence within the team.
Work together to gather user requirements, develop user stories, and plan project timelines.
Prepare comprehensive documentation and reports to ensure clear communication.
Lead integration testing to ensure system functionality and robustness.
Maintain proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders to align on project issues.
Conduct thorough analysis of system requirements to optimize performance.
Engage in code and sprint reviews, ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications.
Qualifications Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience with React/Redux development.
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience collaborating with development teams.
Familiarity with Agile Methodology and Scrum processes.
Advanced understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Experience with AWS and testing methodologies, including unit and end-to-end testing.
Proficient in version control and project management tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, Confluence).
Experience thriving in a remote work environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experience Experience working with the VA or other federal agencies, with knowledge of federal regulations.
Familiarity with the VA.gov platform, demonstrating ability to optimize its features.
Knowledge of AWS and managing web hosting environments.
Skilled in handling RESTful API transactions within the VA network.
Expertise in system integrations, especially with CorpDB, MPI, VA.gov and/or VBMS systems.
Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
