Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Teach allocated areas of the Secondary curriculum to small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant.
- Plan, prepare, and present engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of your students.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of your pupils.
- Adapt your teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each student.
- Set high standards that inspire, motivate, and challenge your pupils.
- Participate in preparing learners for external tests and assessments.
- Teach across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapt learning for students with SEND.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
- Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
- Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subject areas is preferred.
- A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs.
- Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding practices, and effective behavior management strategies.
- Good ICT skills, especially in using technology to support learning.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community.
Salary and BenefitsContract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £28,000 - £39,520
Location: Headingley, Leeds
