Join Our Team at Polaris Education - Holdsworth School Tutor Position
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Basic Salary: £24,000 FTE

At Holdsworth School, located in the heart of Burnley, we provide a nurturing environment for up to 48 pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs. Your RoleAs a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing and learning readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborating with the education team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviours.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering enrichment activities that inspire and engage.
- Assisting in lessons to address academic, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
- Creating and collating lesson information and intervention data.
- Preparing relevant information for pupil meetings.
- Advocating for the ethos of Holdsworth School.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
- Developing the Pupil Voice initiative in collaboration with SLT.
- Building relationships with parents/carers to support transitions and consultations.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
- Skills in behaviour management and techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
