Role Overview
As Site Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a large-scale residential project comprising 270 houses over a 4-year period. You will be responsible for setting out, quality control, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and health & safety standards. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with site management and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Out & Surveying:
- Accurately set out for foundations, drainage, roads, and structural elements.
- Maintain precise records of all measurements and levels.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
- Conduct inspections and maintain QA documentation.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with Site Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Promote and enforce site safety standards.
- Assist in risk assessments and method statements.
- Progress Reporting:
- Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and solutions to the project team.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3- 4 years’ experience in residential or commercial construction.
- Proficient in setting out using GPS, Total Station.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction methodologies.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
