Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Plan and teach well-structured lessons to small class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant.
- Assess, monitor, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of your pupils.
- Adapt your teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of your students.
- Set high standards that inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their best.
- Demonstrate secure subject knowledge and participate in preparing learners for external tests.
- Teach across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum and adapt learning for students with SEND.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
- Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
- Experience in teaching Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
- A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs.
- Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding practices, and effective behaviour management strategies.
- Good ICT skills, especially in using technology to enhance learning.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by the Polaris Community.
