At Budwood , part of Polaris Community , we are dedicated to providing exceptional residential care and support to those facing emotional and behavioral challenges. We are looking for enthusiastic Residential Support Workers to join our team in Poole!

About Us

At Budwood, we create a stable and nurturing environment for young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. Our mission is to offer high levels of support and guidance, helping them develop essential skills for a successful transition to independence and adulthood.

Your Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide flexible and individualized care packages for our children and young adults.
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team that values your unique contributions.
  • Receive training in Developmental Trauma and therapeutic parenting to enhance your ability to support our young people.
Main Responsibilities
  • Support children and young people, understanding the challenges they face.
  • Work a rotating shift pattern, including 7 x 24-hour shifts with sleep-ins.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of our young people.
  • Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships.
  • Encourage the development of individual interests.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, accepting guidance and direction.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Flexibility in availability for shift work.
  • Willingness to pursue a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a car for travel.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • A desire to learn and grow within the role.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us).
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder or Youth Work is a plus!
What We Offer
  • A competitive base salary starting at £24,604.58 (unqualified) or £27,107.08 (qualified), with potential earnings up to £32,348.58 or £34,851.08 respectively, including sleep-in shifts.
  • A sleep-in allowance of £64 per night .
  • Up to 6 weeks of holiday per year.
