The
Sr. Network Engineer
is responsible for the design, architecture, and high-level support of a complex global network infrastructure. This individual plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational resiliency across a global manufacturing footprint, bridging the gap between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT). The Engineer assists the IT Network Team with strategic planning, delivering scalable and secure infrastructure solutions that align with enterprise-wide objectives. Key Responsibilities Network Design, Architecture and Implementation
Global Infrastructure:
Designs, implements, and supports LAN/WAN/WLAN routers, switches, controllers, and internet circuits across complex global manufacturing sites. Security & Segmentation:
Implements network isolation for IT and OT/Industrial Control Systems; establishes regional segmentation across
Americas, EMEA, and APAC
to satisfy data privacy and compliance mandates. Modern Access & Security:
Enforces
Zero Trust
network controls and architects
VPN-less access services
to facilitate secure application consumption without traditional VPN dependencies. Advanced Connectivity:
Deploys and manages
SD-WAN
services globally to enhance performance and cost-efficiency while maintaining robust firewall policies and fault-tolerance alerting. Network Monitoring and Administration Oversees the full lifecycle of network administration, including moves, adds, changes (MAC), fault prediction, traffic measurement, and circuit analysis. Performs rigorous path testing and maintenance to ensure high availability. Information Security & Support Provides expert-level troubleshooting for complex network and production issues, including participation in a
rotating on-call schedule . Supports data security, disaster recovery, and change control management for all IT systems. Actively participates in
Lean/OE
(Operational Excellence) initiatives to drive sustainable process improvements. Qualifications & Requirements Education & Certifications Education:
Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Computer Science or a related field. Certifications:
Expert-level networking certifications are required
(e.g., CCNA, CCIE, JNCIE). Required Experience Architecture:
8+ years
of experience in network design, architecture, and implementation. Network Support:
8+ years
of experience supporting WAN/LAN/WLAN networks at an
L3 level . Modern Tech Stack:
*
3+ years
in SDN, SD-WAN, and Cloud (preferably
Azure ). 3+ years
with
Fortinet
firewall suites and
Meraki
(Switches/Wireless). 2+ years
with
Palo Alto SASE .
Multi-Vendor Expertise:
Expert-level experience with
Cisco and Juniper
equipment. Technical Proficiencies Protocols:
Expert understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and IPSEC. Architectures:
Expert knowledge of
MPLS, VPN, and Telecommunications
architectures. Troubleshooting:
In-depth knowledge of
Layer 4-7 troubleshooting
(specifically diagnosing application connectivity issues from a network perspective). Tools:
Experience with diagnostic and monitoring tools such as
PRTG
and
Rancid . Professional Attributes Industry Context:
Deeply understands the critical role of networking and IT within a
Manufacturing organization . Communication:
Capable of translating complex technical concepts for stakeholders with varying degrees of technical expertise. Hands-on Mentality:
Demonstrates a "roll up your sleeves" attitude, capable of executing high-level work with limited resources.
