Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test embedded hardware and firmware for manufacturing equipment and automation systems. Integrate embedded systems with existing production lines, PLCs, sensors, and robotic systems. Troubleshoot and debug embedded systems issues on the factory floor, minimizing production downtime. Develop and implement real-time control algorithms for precision manufacturing processes and quality control. Optimize embedded software and hardware for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in high-volume production environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, production) to define system requirements and ensure seamless deployment. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, code comments, and test procedures for embedded systems. Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS-based embedded systems development. Extensive experience with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr). Strong ability to read schematics, debug hardware, and utilize lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. Proven experience implementing and debugging industrial communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Modbus, EtherCAT) and standard protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART). Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT) principles for high-reliability embedded systems. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with industrial automation, control systems, or manufacturing execution systems (MES). Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET, CAN). Knowledge of IoT platforms and data analytics for industrial applications (Industry 4.0). Hands-on experience with PCB design, layout review, or advanced hardware debugging tools for manufacturing test fixtures. Experience developing or integrating with HMI/SCADA systems.
