CNC Setter/Operator

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? At Waukesha Bearings , part of Dover Precision Components , we’re looking for a talented Skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic team. You’ll be working in a state-of-the-art Computer Aided Manufacturing facility, utilizing advanced CNC machining centers for turning, milling, and grinding operations. Your expertise will help us produce customized designs from a variety of materials, including steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze.

As a Skilled CNC Operator, you will:

• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate multi-axis machine tools, ideally Correa and/or Doosan.
• Download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
• Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials.
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
• Ensure the final components meet stringent quality standards.
• Package parts for shipment, ensuring they are clean and well-prepared.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• A time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline or an SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience operating CNC machine tools in a lean-manufacturing environment.
• Established milling experience with multi-axis machine tools.
• Familiarity with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas.
• The ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
• Experience with precision inspection equipment like micrometers and calipers.
• Experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar industries is a plus.

Enjoy a 37-hour work week , Monday to Friday, with permanent employment contracts. Choose between:

• £44,919.62 for a rotating shift pattern (early and backshifts).
• £52,452.37 for night shifts.
