Are you a diligent individual with a keen eye for detail? We're looking for an Order Picker to join our thriving logistics center in Des Moines, Iowa. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for accurately locating and retrieving items from our warehouse inventory to fulfill customer orders. Your efficiency and accuracy directly impact our customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our supply chain. This position requires physical stamina, the ability to navigate the warehouse effectively, and a strong commitment to workplace Safety. You'll be an integral part of a team dedicated to excellence in logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Locate and pick specified items from warehouse shelves accurately using pick lists or scanners.
- Verify picked items against order documentation for accuracy.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, particularly those concerning Safety and the proper use of required PPE.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and audits.
- Understand and execute various logistics functions as assigned.
- Report any stock discrepancies or damaged items to supervision.
- Perform other warehouse duties as directed.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial.
- Physical capability to perform tasks including frequent Lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and labels.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safe work area.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management principles.
