We are hiring a Material Handler for our busy distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is critical for the efficient movement of materials throughout the facility, ensuring smooth operations from receiving to dispatch. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and stack inventory. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are paramount. You will be expected to perform pre-operation checks on equipment and adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This job involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of items weighing up to 60 lbs. A strong understanding of warehouse logistics and best practices is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and internal transport systems.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
- Follow all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment required.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and experience using PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
