Join our expanding logistics network as a Receiving Clerk in Charlotte, North Carolina! This role is essential for managing the inbound flow of goods into our distribution center, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining organized receiving processes. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and properly documenting all received items. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. You will work closely with carriers and internal teams to facilitate a smooth and efficient receiving operation. This position plays a vital role in our supply chain, ensuring that products are accurately accounted for and available for the next stage of distribution. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received products as required.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly receiving area.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely (certification may be required).
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and other departments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve receiving-related discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics is preferred.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and computer basics.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (or willingness to be trained).
- Problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
