Join our expanding warehouse team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a Material Handler. This essential role supports the seamless flow of goods throughout our facility. Your responsibilities will include operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, stocking inventory, and retrieving materials for distribution. Safety is paramount in this role; you must demonstrate a strong commitment to adhering to all Safety procedures and correctly utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The position involves considerable physical activity, including regular Lifting. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key player in our Logistics operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in material handling. We seek dedicated, reliable individuals with excellent physical stamina and a proactive approach to workplace Safety.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery.
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments.
- Store and organize materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and stage materials for outgoing orders or internal transfers.
- Load outbound shipments onto trucks.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to Safety standards.
- Assist with inventory counts and tracking.
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting (up to 70 lbs) and other physical tasks.
- Comprehensive understanding of warehouse Safety practices.
- Familiarity with Logistics and inventory procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Commitment to always using the correct PPE.
