We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our Richmond, Virginia logistics team. This position requires proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and organize inventory within our warehouse. Safety is our top priority, and the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operational procedures and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment. This role is critical to the efficient flow of goods through our distribution network. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to perform tasks involving Lifting of materials and operate equipment safely for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control systems.
- Understanding of logistics and material handling best practices.
- Strong commitment to Safety and hazard awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding role.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
