We are looking for skilled and certified Forklift Operators to join our warehouse team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position is essential for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to transport, stack, and retrieve inventory, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. A strong emphasis is placed on Safety, and adherence to all protocols is mandatory. This role offers a competitive salary and the chance to be part of a robust logistics operation.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload merchandise from trucks and trailers.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Maintain accurate logs of material movement and inventory.
- Ensure that all warehouse Safety regulations are followed, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse functions such as order picking and packing when necessary.
- Participate in inventory control activities to maintain accuracy.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas for optimal efficiency and Safety.
- Support the overall logistics workflow and contribute to team goals, which may include occasional Lifting.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse Safety standards and practices.
- Ability to conduct basic equipment checks and report issues promptly.
- Understanding of logistics operations and inventory management.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to Safety is non-negotiable.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, bending, and occasional Lifting.
