Portland, Oregon is seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for moving, storing, and organizing materials and products within our warehouse. Your efforts will be critical to ensuring the smooth flow of goods and supporting efficient order fulfillment. Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts – certification required) to move, load, and unload materials.
- Store and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with picking and packing orders as needed.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment, reporting any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks requiring significant physical exertion, including frequent Lifting of materials up to 70 lbs.
- Accurately track and record material movements.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient logistics operations.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or potential risks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role. Ability to safely operate material handling equipment is essential. Experience with forklifts and other relevant machinery is highly desirable. Physical capacity to perform tasks requiring regular and significant Lifting (up to 70 lbs). Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices. Detail-oriented with good organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to adhering to all PPE requirements and Safety protocols. Team player with good communication skills. Reliability and punctuality are critical for success in this logistics role.
