We are seeking a reliable Receiving Clerk for our Indianapolis, Indiana warehouse. This vital role ensures that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods into our facility, verifying deliveries against orders, and preparing items for storage and distribution. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect all deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label received goods as required.
- Report any receiving errors or issues to the Warehouse Manager promptly.
- Stage received items for put-away by appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including occasional Lifting.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a warehouse receiving or related logistics role is preferred. Basic knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations. Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Strong organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to following all Safety guidelines and wearing required PPE. Basic computer proficiency for data entry. Must be reliable, punctual, and a team player. Understanding of logistics principles is a plus.
