We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and organization of materials within our facility. This role is fundamental to our Logistics operations, ensuring that raw materials and finished goods are readily available and properly managed. You will operate various material handling equipment, assist with inventory control, and maintain a clean and safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse setting, a strong understanding of material flow, and a commitment to Safety. We provide all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comprehensive training on our equipment and procedures. This position requires the ability to perform regular physical tasks, including significant Lifting and moving of materials, so candidates should be prepared for this aspect of the job. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from production or storage areas.
- Operate various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts - if certified).
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Organize and maintain warehouse stock for easy access.
- Ensure that all materials are handled safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse.
- Adhere to all Safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and Logistics goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting and moving of materials, often weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and material handling techniques.
- Strong understanding of Safety protocols in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to wear and maintain PPE.
- Understanding of basic Logistics principles is beneficial.
