Job Description: The Greensman, under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent or Foreman, is responsible for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course, does semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work, and other related work, as directed. The Greensman may occasionally perform work involving large equipment, including

Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent

Duties:

• Operates powered mowing equipment in trimming golf course greens, aprons, and tees

• Waters and fertilizes tees, greens, and fairways

• Grades and prepares the base for turf

• Lays sod and performs seeding on tees, greens, and fairways

• Changes pins and tee markers

• Maintains ball washers, sand traps, and water hazards
• Repairs and replaces pipe on the irrigation system

• Install forms and lays walkways, using gravel and asphalt mixes

• Applies chemicals on greens

• Operates trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris

• Trims and prunes shrubbery and flowers

• Cultivates shrubs and flowers

Skills & Experience:

• Requires basic knowledge of the tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape area construction and maintenance work

• Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions

• Requires a valid driver’
