Position: Residential Support Worker

Type: Full Time/Permanent

Salary:

  • Unqualified: Base salary of £24,604.58, earning up to £32,348.58 with sleep-in shifts.
  • Qualified: Base salary of £27,107.08, earning up to £34,851.08 with sleep-in shifts.

Location: Southampton

Hours: Shift pattern on rotation

We are on the lookout for passionate Residential Support Workers to join our team in Southampton. Here, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment that values your individuality. Our staff are trained in 'Developmental Trauma' and therapeutic parenting, equipping you with the tools to offer the best support possible to our young people.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Utilize your experience working with children and young people to understand their unique challenges.
  • Be flexible with your availability, working 7 x 24-hour shifts (including sleep-ins) on a 3-week rotation.
  • Promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of our young people.
  • Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with the children and young adults in your care.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team, accepting guidance and direction.
  • Encourage the development of individual interests and skills of our young people.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a full UK driving license and a car for travel purposes.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Be eager to learn and grow in your role.
  • Be prepared to undergo an enhanced DBS check, which we will cover.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is a plus!
