Our Jacksonville, Florida distribution center is seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. This critical role involves monitoring stock levels, investigating discrepancies, and implementing measures to optimize inventory management. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor inventory levels, identify reorder points, and communicate needs to procurement.
- Oversee stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement procedures to enhance inventory control and reduce shrinkage.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to maintain seamless inventory flow.
- Ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and safe, adhering to all safety protocols and utilizing appropriate PPE.
- Support logistics planning by providing accurate inventory reports and forecasts.
- Train other staff members on inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Operate warehouse equipment as needed and maintain their safe condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Proficiency with WMS and inventory control software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform other physical tasks associated with warehouse operations.
- Excellent understanding of inventory management principles and logistics best practices.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
