We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our warehouse operations. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the seamless flow of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Organize and stage received goods for further processing or put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed, following safe operating procedures.
- Collaborate with other warehouse departments to ensure timely processing of inbound freight.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
- Manage shipping documentation and maintain records.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of wearing appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Basic computer skills.
