We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the outbound flow of products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all shipping processes. Your duties will include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents against orders, documenting outgoing shipments, and maintaining organized shipping areas. A strong understanding of shipping software and logistics procedures is beneficial. Safety is a critical aspect of this role; you must adhere to all safety regulations and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling goods. While this role is primarily administrative, occasional lifting of packages up to 30 lbs may be required. You will play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of our products to customers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Verify outgoing shipments against order pick lists and packing slips.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers as needed.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Ensure all packages are properly sealed, labeled, and ready for dispatch.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and external partners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
