Our Kansas City, Missouri facility is looking for dedicated Picker/Packers to join our distribution team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders. This involves navigating the warehouse, using technology like RF scanners to locate and retrieve items, and preparing them for shipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to upholding our high standards of service. Key responsibilities include picking the correct items and quantities, checking for any product defects, and packing orders securely to prevent damage during transit. You will work collaboratively with your team in a dynamic, fast-paced logistics environment, ensuring that all orders are processed correctly and on schedule. Understanding and adhering to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations based on order details.
- Verify product identification and quantity against order specifications.
- Inspect items for damage before packaging.
- Package products appropriately to ensure safe delivery, selecting the correct box size and packing materials.
- Apply shipping labels and any necessary documentation to packages.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Meet performance targets for picking accuracy and productivity.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely order completion.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a warehouse or order fulfillment role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret order pick lists and system prompts.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and verification.
- Capacity for sustained physical activity, including walking, standing, and bending for the duration of shifts.
- Capability to handle repeated lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Awareness of and adherence to warehouse safety best practices, including the importance of PPE.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a high-volume logistics setting.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
