We are hiring a Picker/Packer for our state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Picker/Packer, you will play a critical role in fulfilling customer orders by accurately retrieving products from inventory and preparing them for shipment. This position requires a keen eye for detail, efficiency, and a strong work ethic. You will work closely with our inventory management system to ensure that all orders are processed correctly and on time. This role involves active participation in the warehouse logistics chain, ensuring smooth operations from picking to dispatch. Physical capability, including the ability to perform frequent Lifting, is essential, as is strict adherence to all company Safety guidelines and the use of provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We seek individuals who are reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Select items from designated locations using order lists or RF scanners.
- Verify product information and quantity before packing.
- Package items carefully to prevent damage during transit.
- Ensure all packages are labeled correctly for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace in compliance with Safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through diligent picking practices.
- Operate pallet jacks or other equipment to move merchandise.
- Meet established performance standards for picking and packing rates.
- Communicate any issues or challenges to team leads or supervisors promptly.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in order picking or packing is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand order specifications.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable with frequent Lifting of items up to 35 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and proper use of PPE.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety and Logistics flow.
