We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials throughout our facility. Your efficiency directly impacts our overall logistics operations, ensuring that materials are in the right place at the right time for production and shipping. This position requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will operate various material handling equipment, manage inventory placement, and assist with loading and unloading shipments. We provide comprehensive training and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your safety and compliance with industry standards. This role involves frequent moderate lifting and requires the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move materials from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to production or shipping areas.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the supply chain and logistics process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and coordination.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with logistics best practices.
