Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic leader to focus on the delivery of innovative technological solutions by promoting best coding practices and sound software design decisions within their team. You will be instrumental in growing and mentoring the engineering talent, facilitating their technical development and career paths. You will influence cross-team initiatives to ensure the efficient delivery of business value while advocating for new product abilities based on our technical strategy. You will lead teams responsible for: Data Platform Delivery:
managing batch and streaming pipelines, ensuring data governance, enhancing reliability, and optimizing costs. Master Data Management (MDM):
overseeing platforms and services, ensuring the accuracy of trusted master records and stewardship workflows. API and Service Enablement:
managing REST APIs (required) and optionally, GraphQL interfaces. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Delivery:
Manage, mentor, and nurture a team of software engineers. Support their growth through feedback and development opportunities. Achieve execution of quarterly and annual goals, ensuring a balance of speed, quality, reliability, and cost. Oversee both onshore and offshore delivery models, establishing standards and practices for effective delegation and accountability. Communicate clearly about progress, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Data Platform Management:
Guide the architecture, development, and scaling of large-scale data platforms (ingestion, processing, storage, serving layers). Own data platform workloads using technologies like SQL, Python, Spark, and Delta Lake, optimizing pipelines and workflows. Drive continuous improvement in developer experience and reduce operational toil. Improve API architecture by providing leadership for both REST and GraphQL services. MDM Oversight:
Lead the MDM platforms team, ensuring data quality, consistency, and effective governance. Collaborate with business units to outline stewardship workflows and manage data lifecycle. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Six to eight years of relevant technical experience. Five or more years in a leadership role within software engineering. Preferred Skills/Experience: Proven track record in leading large, complex distributed systems and hands-on data platform development. Strong familiarity with data technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, and governance tools. Proficient in at least one backend programming language (Java, Scala, Python, Go). Experience in designing data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and tuning performance in cloud environments. Solid understanding of security and compliance standards relevant to data management. Experience with REST API architecture and microservices patterns. Strong capabilities in CI/CD and DevOps methodologies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in fintech or regulated industries (payments, lending, risk, compliance) is highly beneficial. Experience guiding AI/ML projects with attention to privacy and compliance is a plus.
