Our Hardware Security team plays an essential role in performing thorough security assessments of the production hardware that powers our cloud architecture. We set and define the standards for future Networking, Storage, and Compute components. Collaborating across Oracle, working with trusted vendors, and engaging with standards organizations, we aim to mold the future of hardware platform security. We understand that effective platform security relies on operational strategies and hardware management. Thus, we work closely with OCI's engineering and operations teams to continuously enhance Oracle Cloud's operational security posture by establishing best practices and requirements concerning supply chain and device management within our data centers. As a security-focused engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of one of the world's leading cloud services. Our OCI Security Architecture team engages in a wide array of tasks, including cloud security, application security, vulnerability analysis, threat modeling, and penetration testing. As our business grows rapidly, we face the continual challenge to elevate our systems, tools, and automation, scaling our security expertise to unprecedented heights. We acknowledge the importance of consistent investment in our software, and the need to tackle informed trade-offs, while ensuring effective communication of our decisions. Responsibilities Define and effectively communicate requirements for new vendors and hardware (compute, storage, networking). Conduct architectural reviews, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments of hardware infrastructure, including: Servers (Intel, AMD, and ARM) Baseboard Management Controllers, such as Oracle's ILOM UEFI and platform firmware Smart NICS Storage devices Network controllers and peripherals Provide consulting on security risks associated with compute hardware and firmware in the context of cloud applications. Oversee and advise on device sanitization processes according to NIST-800-88 R1 standards. Establish standard operating procedures for secure usage of compute hardware throughout its lifecycle, including provisioning, operations, and decommissioning. Skills Collaborate with Oracle Hardware Division and third-party vendors to understand their future roadmaps. Develop strategic planning roadmaps to drive multi-year security enhancements across OCI Infrastructure. Assess engineering changes or revisions to existing components, such as new firmware for devices, while participating in external standards organizations to drive industry advancements. Provide consulting support to development teams and vendors on the design and architecture of secure systems. Promote and advocate for secure development lifecycle practices. Communicate effectively and inform senior management about critical security topics and directives. Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive salary range, with an annual hiring range from $120,100 to $251,600, alongside potential bonuses, equity, and other compensation deferments.
