Senior Front-End Engineer

If designing robust cloud systems and shaping how engineering gets done sounds appealing, this role may be worth a look. A new delivery team is being formed to build modern investment technology from the ground up.

This global financial services firm develops technology platforms that support investment management and advisory services used by institutional and retail investors worldwide. The Galway technology centre plays a significant role in building next-generation applications and cloud platforms supporting asset management products.

• Design and build scalable applications on AWS using Java, Spring and modern microservice architecture.
  
• Develop rich single-page applications using Angular, NGRX and RXJS while contributing to front-end architecture decisions.
  
• Lead engineering practices including code reviews, CI/CD pipeline design, automated deployments and source control strategy.
  
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and technical leads to evolve the platform and influence technical direction.

• Around 10+ years of software design and development experience, ideally with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
  
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservices along with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular.
  
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as Maven and Jenkins, and experience building CI/CD pipelines.

Salary sits between €80,000 and €90,000, with a 20% bonus and a non-contributory pension ranging from 11% to 20% depending on age.

The role is based in Galway with a hybrid setup — one week in every four spent in the office, the remainder remote.
