Your RoleAs a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and learning readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the improvement of well-being, resilience, and behavior management.
- Collaborating with the Education team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Promoting positive learning behaviors.
- Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
- Delivering engaging enrichment activities.
- Assisting in lessons to address academic, emotional, or behavioral needs.
- Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
- Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
- Preparing relevant information for meetings about pupils.
- Advocating for the ethos of Elmy Hall School.
- Leading on Reading and Phonics, reviewing student progress.
- Developing the Pupil Voice and liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council.
- Building relationships with parents/carers and actively participating in transitions and consultations.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.
- Experience in behavior management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
