At Coinbase, Data Science plays an essential role in influencing our product development and decision-making processes. Data scientists partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to illuminate user insights and enhance our offerings. With a focus on experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling, our team's insights drive significant business outcomes. Join us as a Data Scientist II on the Platform Data Science team. In this role, you will collaborate across various domains to enhance the core systems and user experiences essential to Coinbase, including Payments, Risk & Trust, Identity & Onboarding, Compliance, Customer Support, and Experimentation. In your position, you will address impactful, cross-functional challenges aimed at making Coinbase safer, more reliable, and user-friendly, while also promoting growth through informed decision-making and effective measurement strategies. Sample projects may involve analyzing user journey drop-offs, establishing essential metrics, and refining experimentation methods such as A/B tests and causal inference techniques. What you'll be doing: Conduct analyses on products to address complex questions and provide strategic recommendations.
Design and oversee experiments and analyses that gauge impact and foster product improvements.
Create and sustain crucial metrics and reports, enhancing our data infrastructure for superior analysis.
What we seek in you: A BA/BS in a quantitative field (such as Math, Stats, Physics, or Computer Science) combined with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated ability to drive impact for a digital product through an iterative development cycle.
Solid understanding of statistical concepts with practical experience in applications such as A/B testing and causal inference.
Proficiency in data analysis using SQL.
Experience programming and modeling in Python.

The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $152,405 to $179,300 USD. Total compensation may also include equity and eligibility for bonuses along with benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Commitment to Equal Opportunity:
