The Client Solutions Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and supporting both the organization's internal infrastructure databases and its external client databases, ensuring stability, performance, and reliability across all environments. This role directly supports both Implementation Services and Data Services while also partnering closely with Client Services, Development, and customer IT teams. The DBA will contribute to database structure improvements, manage database operations, and support customer implementations, including working with customer-supplied servers and providing expert guidance to IT departments when needed.

What You'll Do:
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade SQL database environments across development, staging, and production
Monitor database health, performance, and resource utilization; implement tuning and optimization strategies
Manage database security, access controls, and compliance in alignment with internal standards and industry regulations
Oversee backup, restore, high‐availability, and disaster recovery processes
Implement and refine monitoring and alerting tools to ensure proactive issue identification
Prepare, configure, and validate database environments for new customer implementations
Execute data migrations, imports, and schema updates required for onboarding or transitions
Work directly with customer IT teams when customer-supplied servers are involved, providing guidance on configuration, best practices, and infrastructure requirements
Support go-live activities by troubleshooting data-related issues and verifying system readiness
Collaborate with Client Services to investigate and resolve customer-reported data or performance concerns
Partner with Development to improve database structures, indexing strategies, schema design, and system scalability
Assist Support and Implementation teams with escalations requiring deeper database expertise
Work closely with Project Managers to ensure database-related milestones are delivered on schedule
Participate in customer calls where database expertise is required
Provide clear, technically sound explanations to customer IT departments regarding server setup, database performance, and best practices
Assist customers in diagnosing and resolving environment-specific database issues
Validate data accuracy across environments through audits, error identification, and ongoing monitoring
Develop scripts, stored procedures, automation processes, and tools to improve data quality and efficiency
Maintain database documentation, including schemas, change logs, and SOPs
Identify and recommend improvements to database architecture, performance, and stability
Work with Development to influence long-term database design, scalability planning, and structural enhancements
Create and maintain internal documentation, process guides, and technical runbooks
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
Strong SQL querying, tuning, indexing, and optimization experience
Hands-on experience with database backup/recovery, clustering, and high‐availability solutions
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customer IT teams
Strong troubleshooting skills with an analytical, solution-oriented mindset
Experience supporting customer-facing implementations or multi-environment deployments
Experience in SaaS, healthcare, pharmacy, or regulated data environments preferred
Knowledge of cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or similar)
Familiarity with SSMS, ETL processes, reporting, or BI tools
Experience collaborating with software development teams on schema and performance improvements
Understanding of DevOps processes, source control, and CI/CD pipelines
