This role is a management position in Cpac Modular, reporting to the Design Manager and Director of Construction.


Role Overview


The Structural Engineer will be overseeing the engineering design and sign off process working in a collaborative environment with CPAC’s in-house design team consisting of architects, service engineers, structural engineering technicians and BIM coordinators.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare design of structures, including but not limited to the design of modular buildings, prefabrication and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA).
  • Carry out the structural analysis and design analysis, preparation of detailed design reports, calculations, sketches and drawings.
  • Coordinate with BIM modelers and technicians for the preparation of BIM models and drawings aligned with the client’s requirements and design intent.
  • Prepare project deliverables and submissions to relevant authorities.
  • Review drawings, calculations, reports and other project deliverables.
  • Design, manage and coordinate with other design disciplines.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and wider companies to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
  • Liaise directly with clients, architects, and other design discipline team members, building long-term internal and external relationships.
  • Participate in bids, tenders and showcases.
  • Follow the planning and execution phases of projects and provide support as necessary.
  • Perform other relevant tasks that may be assigned by management.

This role encompasses all engineering activities conducted by Cpac which includes construction sites throughout Ireland, production facility and offices at Dunshaughlin HQ.


Provide professional advice, guidance, and support to the Cpac Design team in relation to their key responsibilities.


Ensure full Regulatory Compliance with designs under local and national building regulations and other legal and structural requirements.


Provide professional guidance in relation to design operations to ensure that the composition modular unit at Factory and at sites are fully compliant.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and membership of a professional body.

Experience

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status from the Institute of Engineers of Ireland, IEI.
  • 10+ years post graduate consulting design experience as a structural and/or civil engineer.
  • Experience in modular construction would be a distinct advantage. xcfaprz
