Mackinac Straits Health System is searching for talented and passionate Medical Assistant's to join our team in our St. Ignace clinic. *Applicants must be licensed in good standing as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant*. RN or LPN WELCOME TO APPLY AS WELL! This is a Monday through Friday position with holidays and weekends off. *Essential Duties:*
* Obtains and records patients’ vital signs.
* Records and tracks patients’ labs, diagnostics, referrals, etc.
* Schedules referral appointments and obtains the appropriate authorizations.
* Triages patient needs and coordinates patient care with the providers.
* Processes medication refill requests.
* Utilizes the EMR for all patient documentation, medication refills, and referrals.
* Requests charts from registration as needed for patient correspondence and returns to registration for filing.
* Stocks patient rooms as needed and ensures medical equipment is readily available.
* *Position Requirements/Qualifications:*
* Must be a CERTIFIED or REGISTERED Medical Assistant- or able to obtain
* 1 year of previous clinical office experience preferred- but will train the right person!
* RN's and LPN's are also welcome to apply!
* Must be a team player able to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Flexibility and the ability to work various shifts and hours as needed.
* Must be detail oriented and adept at record keeping.
* Familiarity of the patient registry preferred.
* Exemplary attendance record required.
The Mackinac Straits Health System (MSHS) serves the Straits of Mackinac region with local access to high quality health care, including state of the art equipment. MSHS includes a 15-bed critical access hospital in St. Ignace which houses a rural health clinic (St. Ignace Medical Clinic), Emergency Room, Fast Care (Walk-in) Clinic, outpatient surgery center, six-bed infusion center, and a 48-bed long-term care facility (Evergreen Living Center). The Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Health Clinic is also part of our St. Ignace Campus. Other outpatient services featured at the St. Ignace Campus include radiology, cardiac rehab, and physical therapy, along with a retail pharmacy. Other locations include Bois Blanc Island Medical Center, Mackinaw City Medical Clinic, Mackinaw City Specialty Clinic, Mackinac Island Medical Center, and the Rivertown Medical Clinic in Cheboygan. Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
