Oakland Role Summary Join a dynamic
cross-functional data analytics intake team
responsible for managing
intake, triage, investigation, and evaluations
for electrical and safety incidents. You will utilize
Palantir Foundry
to transform structured and free text incident data into
high-quality, production-ready datasets
and prototypes that enhance CPUC reportability and improve outcomes. What You Will Learn and Deliver Hands-on experience with Foundry skills: dataset transforms, code repositories, lineage, and operationalization. Fundamentals of NLP and ML applied to real safety data. Understanding of regulatory triage workflows and analytics shaped by rapid reporting constraints. Key deliverables include
ETL pipelines, labeled datasets, prototype models, dashboards , and a
final project report with reproducible notebooks . PG&E provides the hourly rate range that reflects the company’s good faith belief for this position at the time of posting. The actual hourly rate will depend on various factors such as specific skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. The hourly rate for a bachelor's degree ranges from $20.88 to $36.42. Key Responsibilities Ingest and clean incident data in
Palantir Foundry
from both structured fields and free text narratives. Label and curate training datasets for
NLP extraction and classification
tasks. Build and validate prototypes, including
NER
for incident narratives and baseline CPUC/SIF triage models. Create reproducible
ETL pipelines
and implement
data quality checks
using Foundry. Generate clear documentation and successful handoffs for
Data Scientists
and operations teams. Assist with
human-in-the-loop
workflows to ensure rapid
CPUC reporting
(2 hours during work hours and 4 hours outside). Present findings and demos to stakeholders while incorporating feedback for improvements. Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program specializing in
Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
at an accredited university. Students must plan to return to school in the fall of 2026 in a full-time academic capacity. Desired Qualifications Experience with
NLP tasks
(NER, text classification) or
time series/geo analytics . Familiarity with
safety, utilities, or regulatory environments . Understanding of
data quality frameworks
and
human-in-the-loop labeling tools . Practical experience with
Python
and common libraries ( pandas, scikit-learn, spaCy
or similar). A working knowledge of
SQL
and data modeling concepts. Comfort working with both
structured
and
free text incident data . Strong communication skills to document
reproducible workflows . Eagerness to learn
Palantir Foundry ; prior knowledge of Foundry and Git is a bonus. PG&E is unable to provide VISA sponsorship to students on an F-1, J-1, or other student visa for this role.
