Join the Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) as a highly motivated Lead Data Engineer focused on driving AI Adoption. In this dynamic role, you'll work with a diverse team that includes software engineers, product managers, and AI/ML specialists to enhance the integration of developer AI tools across our organization. This position combines data pipeline engineering with strategic advocacy and change management. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports AI adoption metrics, championing AI-powered developer tools, and leading impactful, data-driven initiatives. We seek an individual who excels in data engineering and understands how robust data frameworks can propel organizational AI maturity and transformation. Key Responsibilities Data Pipeline Design & Development:
Architect and implement comprehensive data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data from various enterprise sources for AI adoption initiatives. Design effective ETL/ELT workflows utilizing Python, SQL, Flyte, and similar tools to effectively manage structured and unstructured data. Develop and maintain data models tailored for AI/ML training datasets, adoption metrics, and executive reporting. Implement automated data quality checks and validation measures to uphold pipeline reliability and data integrity. AI Adoption Analytics & Measurement: Establish a data infrastructure to monitor AI adoption KPIs, including training completion rates and tool usage metrics across a workforce of over 120,000 employees. Create pipelines to unify data from various internal platforms for cohesive adoption reporting. Synthesize data from adoption metrics, developer feedback, and market trends into executive-level reports and presentations. Develop both real-time and batch data feeds for leadership dashboards tracking AI maturity across different programs. Data Integration, Governance & Security: Merge data from multiple internal platforms, HR systems, learning management systems, and AI tools into seamless, AI-ready datasets. Document data lineage, maintain data dictionaries, and uphold strict governance standards for all data outputs. Promote AI ethics and security principles within data operations and the broader developer ecosystem. Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure secure data handling practices. Community & Ecosystem Development: Foster a vibrant AI developer community through events, hackathons, and collaborative forums aimed at enhancing data-driven AI adoption. Act as a point of connection between developers, data teams, product teams, and leadership to ensure alignment on goals and progress. Contribute to the AI Factory ecosystem through the creation of reusable data components and shared services. Collaborate with engineering leaders to identify gaps in tools and solutions, informing product direction based on developer feedback. Mentor junior team members on data engineering best practices. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field. 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data pipeline development, AI strategy, or technical program management. Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and automation. Experience with orchestration tools (Flyte, AirByte, Apache Airflow, or equivalent). Strong background in working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.). Excellent communication and storytelling skills, engaging both technical and executive audiences effectively. Desired Skills: Experience in defense, aerospace, or regulated industries. Familiarity with AI/ML data workflows and training data management. Hands-on experience with streaming data platforms (Kafka, Spark Streaming, etc.). Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana). Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) and using container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Exposure to API development (REST, GraphQL) for data services integration. Familiarity with Lockheed Martin's internal platforms would be a plus. Clearance Level:

The salary range for this role typically falls between $125,100 - $216,890 in major metropolitan areas, with variations depending on work location. Benefits:
